"BURU BUKĪT" an Indonesian Surf Film

"BURU BUKĪT" a Short Film from an Indonesia Surf Adventure

Our surf exploration brings us to a land far, far away. Multiple flights and days of grueling travel to end up in Bali, Indonesia for the ultimate Indo surf trip that every surfer dreams of. All that you need to score over here is a scooter, a board, and the itch for wave exploration.

However, this is no cake walk. These waves are the real deal, and preparation both physically and mentally is highly recommended. You sets are coming when you hear the locals at Greenbowl and Nusa Dua yell “Bukit! Bukit!” which directly translates to “mountain” in English. Through countless hold downs and wipeouts on shallow reef I learn quite quickly that this game of balance, of ebb and flow with a beast that you cannot tame. I surfed, got rinsed, watched film, recovered and repeated.

This film is action - packed with gnarly hold downs, crystal clear “Buru” (or “blue” in English) waters and rogue sets that will eat you for breakfast.  This short surf film closes out with beautiful shots from atop the cliffs of Uluwatu to the track “Sweet Disposition” by the Temper Trap, which is about the beauty and excitement of being displaced and scrambled, both mentally and physically.
