"BARDO" a Ya Guey Story - Costa Rica Surf Adventure
With a bigger crew and more firepower, we return south to the Guanecaste region of Costa Rica to finish what we started in “YA GUEY” hence it being a Ya Guey story. This time we go all in. A bigger crew with refined skills and camera work to double down on our love for surfing and exploration, while capturing it all.
“Bardo” is a Tibetan term that means “interval” or “in-between state” referring to a transitional state of consciousness between death and rebirth. This is where I find myself during this film, at an in-between where I am continuing to transition to a life of uncertainty and excitement through surf exploration. This is the trip I realize I made the right decision, depicted in the lyrics of the second track, “I found the one, she’s like the sun, I don’t know how, I’m dreaming now.”
No turning back now.
Filmed by Hank and Daphne on Sony A7 series and DJI Mavic 3, edited and produced by Beau.
Track list in order of appearance: “How Soon is Now?” by The Smiths “Can’t Explain It” by Modern Nomad.
